The City of Drumright completed 130 gas meters turned on yesterday with several door hangers for people who were not home.

On September 4, 2026, one of our employees was assaulted by a large dog while attempting to perform his duties. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of a dog bite. Thankfully, he is now home and recovering from his injuries.

Please understand that turning on a gas meter is not a quick process. Each meter takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete from start to finish. With the number of meters that need to be restored, this process takes considerable time.

Currently, we have three crews working to restore gas services.

Because of the number of calls and the time required at each location, there is no way to predict exactly when a crew will arrive at a particular address. Our crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore everyone’s gas service.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through the remaining meters. Our priority is to restore service safely to everyone who has been affected.
